Come Build A Boat

TUESDAY MORNINGS

“If parts of a wooden ship are replaced one by one, until all the original components have been substituted, is it still the same ship?”

This thought experiment, referred to as The Ship of Theseus, was notably published by Plutarch the Ancient Greek historian and essayist in the first century CE.

In the context of Storm Warning, it is illustrative of the importance of collective action.

Over the duration of the exhibition a wooden boat will be assembled, disassembled, and reassembled, multiple times. If you would like to participate, come along to a drop-in workshop every Tuesday, 11:00-12:00 – no tools or experience necessary.

FREE (with admission, no need to book)
